Bully Blog This Week - April 6-12, 2007

Greetings!
Hope this post finds everyone in good spirits. Here are this week's main topics (with additional posts forthcoming):
1. The MD Stop Bully Site.  After my initial post on March 25, we have been pleased to see an increase in views on our MD Stop Bully web site (www.mdstopbully.com). Please continue to inform us on how we can use this tool to better serve this important cause.
2. Comments/Comment Rules
We also discovered that some of you were not able to post comments. We have corrected this issue. Apologies for the inconvenience and delay. With that said, here are the "Rules of Engagement" concerning comments on this blog:
Rule #1: Be respectful of others.
Workplace bullying is a very sensitive topic. This phenomenon has affected lives in every way imaginable (and in some cases, unimaginable). Always remember, that respect given results in respect reciprocated. If during the commenting process there is a strong difference of opinion, agree to disagree, be cordial while doing so, and move on.
Rule #2: Keep the language clean.
No expletives or name-calling in comments. We will not act like the bullies that we are trying to stop.
Rule #3: Stay on topic!
I cannot stress this enough.  Since workplace bullying is such a serious subject, there is absolutely no need for spam, or links to sites that have nothing to do with the topics at hand.
3. Stop Bully Legislation Campaign Meeting
On Saturday, April 12, 2008, there will be a Maryland Stop Bully Legislation Campaign Meeting. It will take place at The Brantley Group at Near Haven in Upperco, MD, from Noon to 2:00 p.m.  At this meeting we will be getting to know one another and take this time to exchange ideas on how to obtain legislator(s) to get behind the workplace bullying initiative that we are promoting, in order to eventually establish legislation to protect workers from this problem. For more information, feel free to contact Robert L . Brantley at 410-625-2900. We will also post this event on the MD Stop Bully web site.
That's all for now. If there are any bullying topics that you would like to discuss, please post those comments.
Work in peace,
M. Roberts
